: He finished at 8th place at 2008 Sail Auckland:


ISAF grade 1 event was held between 16-19.February at Kohimarama Sailing Club. There were a lot of top sailors racing. 12 races were sailed. Ertugrul finished 8th overall.

The 3rd day of the championship, Ertuğrul had a great day with a 3rd and 9th place in race 5 and 6.
He qualified to the Gold Fleet, and now hopes to do even better in the finals .

:2008 World Championship in NewZealand:
There are 120 men and 80 women in New Zealand for the 2008 World Champs. Ertugrul spent 40 days in NZL before although he already qualifed for the 2008 Olympic Games last year. His goal here is both to train for the Olympics, and achive a respectable result. for the live results and news...

raked 11th .

:: Pre-Olympic Regatta in Qingdao::
Ertugrul traveled to Qingdao the
Olympic Sailing Site for 2008 forthe first time this August, aiming mainly on trying to get to now the site and have a feel on what to expect next year, when it will really count. He finished 17th at the event.

::House Cup 2007 , August-Alaçati ::
For the 2nd time in a row Ertugrul won
The House Cup Slalom Race and the Yamaha Scooter

The House Cup is easily and quickly becoming the biggest big number entry ; most spectators ) Slalom event in Turkey because of its huge prices and great organization. There is no other event in Turkey with such prices (2 yamaha scooters, price money, hillside city club membership, ext. ). Cagla Kubat won the womens and the second yamaha scooter followed by Ilknur Icingir. Following Ertugrul, young rising star of Turkish windsurfing Enes scored 2nd followed by Bodrum`s legendary Huseyin the Sert.

::Ertuğrul qualified Turkey for 2008 Beijing Olympics::

ISAF World Sailing Games was the most important sailing event for all the Olympic classes this year, not just for being the World Championship of the year for all the classes but also because it is the first qualifier event for the 2008 Olympics. Ertugrul had an incredibly good start to the event as he was lying on fifth after the second day of competition. Unfortunately he dropped from 5th the next couple of days but still scoring a considerably good result of 19th from 120 competitors. With this result he also easily qualified Turkey as 12th country out of 25 qualified at this time, for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

:: Holland Regatta , finished at 4th place ::

Finishing 4th at the 2007 Holland Regatta, which is a Grade 1 event, Ertugrul is showing consistent rise on his form approaching the ISAF World Sailing Games. There was a tight margin separating the top 5, but Bimba ( Ricardo Santos ) won followed by Ho Chi Ho, and Olympic Medalist Nick Dempsey just in front of Ertugrul.

ICINGIR Aims For Third Olympics With High Hope
Turkey’s leading windsurfer Ertugrul ICINGIR (TUR) will be going for his third Olympic Games in 2008 and with the support of the IOC Olympic Solidarity Scholarship he is aiming to make it there in style. Since receiving Scholarship funding, ICINGIR has risen to #19 in the ISAF World Sailing Rankings and is on course to make a big splash at this year's ISAF Sailing World Championships.

Ertugrul finished in 9th place overall. 17.Feb: Ertugrul is in 6th place...
2 racing days has passed by. First day races was held in very light conditions. Second day had a good breeze from north,he had very good races 8, 3 and 4 but on the shore there was a suprise that he was OCS on the last race for the results...

:: 5.Jan-25.Feb, USA, Brazil ::
Ertugrul has a good start and a good training program for 2007 with the great support of his sponsor Danone and his sailing club Fenerbahce. He trained with Mike Gebhardt and raced at North Americans
and Miami Olympic Classes Regatta. He finished 8 at the
North Americans. He traveled to Brazil to train and race with the top sailors. He participate in Panamericans as a training race and finished 4th.

::19-20.August, The House Cafe Slalom Race::
The biggest slalom race of the year for Turkish Windsurfer's. Ertugrul won the 1st place and also the Yamaha Scooter. 2nd place Huseyin's and 3rd place Ali's..

::1-7.August,2006 IFCA/PWA Slalom Worlds,Alacati::

Against all the best slalom sailors of the world with a respectable 13th overall finish at the 2006 World Championship, Ertugrul prooved

::7-16.June RSX Europeans, Alacati,Turkey::
Finished 10th in the Europeans,
13th in the overall.

: Bosphorous Cruising ::
Danone organized a Bosphorous Crusing with Jon Paul Tobin (JP)
and Ertuğrul at İstanbul. They started from Anadolu Kavağı and finished at Ortaköy. Media Boat followed them during the
"Friendship Race". It was a great expreince and fun for
everybody. (31.May.2006)

First ever RS-X World Sailing Rankings were published on 9th February 2006. Ertugrul is now ranked 6th the World
Rankings
. He spent 42 days in Melbourne and 28 days in
Auckland where he trained and competed. He finished 3rd at Sail Melbourne Warm-up Regatta, 5th
at Sail Melbourne and 7th at Sail Auckland Regatta.
